My dad decided to dung out the roofspace and use ebay for the first time, ended up raking in near £1300! You've nothing to lose man, a bit of advice is wait until a free listing or zero fee weekend (they happen a lot) beflore listing a lot of items because it can save you paying them nearly 20% sales fees at the end.

Becourse i have no idea what anything is worth but i figger put stuff up on a 10 day listing and people will tell me what they are worth by what they bid up to . Im planning on building a new garage so i need to get a bit extra cash in to pay for it so i figer may be over the next few months ill list a load of random stuff and see what they fetch you never know something may just fetch a good price , the nassa stuff are the patches for the Apollo missions, not sure how to do it but id like to list them on the USA E-Bay if i can not shore how to do that though

When you are listing stuff just make sure put it in the global shipping program so it will be listed worldwide
You post to their UK hub then they are responsible for sending it abroad
After the hub has received it you are no longer liable for it getting lost

Do it Norbo. Set it up properly and you can't go wrong. You've got some of the best stuff out there . The only downside is the monthly fees but budget for it and it's ok. A worldwide audience. I wouldn't be surprised after awhile if you had to put somebody on part time to help with packaging.

Not all foreigners rip you off on ebay, I sell all over the world and always have, back since ebay started basically.
One bit of advice... if that horn bracket is OEM, say it, you'll get more bids. if its not, say it, you'll not have hassle when someone finds its not OEM.

Then a few weeks later an identical item is for sale from there......
Saying that, I've bought stuff from abroad and had no probs at all, so I suppose it's caveat venditor as opposed to caveat emptor......
I just list stuff as UK only, and ONLY post to people's registered ebay address (not their cousin in [insert name of some other country here]).

In say 4000 plus sales and buying locally in Australia and maybe 400 odd from overseas. Ive had one thing go missing internationally and have lost 1 item i mailed in Australia disappear .. The postage system IMO is very good. One problem is people who have untidy writing should print out labels and accurately describe what they are selling. Packaging is important as well. Pretend your box of goodies is going to be used as a soccer ball.

So the UK is becoming like the USA where people wont sell to anyone outside of the country. That sucks when you want to build one of our bikes and need parts and most of the parts are in the UK. Like I said not everyone is out to rip you off, and those that are live close by as well as far away. Each to his own but I'm sad to discover that people wont sell me parts just cos of my location, even with 100% positive feedback. And you should only ever post to the registered paypal address, no where else. you are not covered if you do anything other than the paypal address.

Bloody eBay.
I sold something last night for £100. The buyer decided to choose the new PayPal payment option of paying when you recieve the item. This means I've got to send the item to him, and if he's ok with it, I get the money on the 7th OF MARCH!!

I’m hearing you Jon
That guy from dumb tree springs to mind, eh
IMO People who won’t post overseas or even locally within the same country or even state are severely limiting their buying audience

I have no intention of selling my stuff on e bay or doing an e-bay shop . to mush time and greef from the sound of it . I just want to get rid of some random stuff and may as well list some lc stuff but mainly just house stuff i want to get rid of thats taking up space .

PayPal is bad enough for siding with the buyer but getting paid after the item reaches its destination will just make it worse.

£74 plus post for the horn bracket .. if you sell everything RD-related that you have tucked away you'll be in the market for buying yourself a Caribbean island Norbo.

They didn't give me an option to refuse it. They also didn't allow me to disable 'Or best offer' on my items, so I was inundated with crappy offers from overseas. I literally had 30 messages in an hours for a £100 Graphics Card.

Only thing I can see is new or infrequent sellers don't get their money for 21 days until they have sold a few things and all goes well Steve

It's because it's a 'High risk' item, in their words. Being used computer parts that's kind of understandable but it's a bit of a nightmare for the seller.
I've been offered the option when purchasing items on ebay but I've always selected the pay now option.
