9K for an lc with a bit of bling OMG. Right here is a statement to all you oldies (being 48 I am not old) Stop pushing up the prices. You can't ring ding down to the shops and sit backwards anymore whilst you eat chips impressing the girlies, your hips will be displaced and you are grandfathers. This won't automatically transport you back to being 19 again. You are to quote floyd one step closer to death, therefore give it up and let us youngsters enjoy the bikes of our youth.

You'd think for the 'bargin price' of nearly 9k. that they would get the tank graphics in the right place! Mouse

Haha, yea, and clean it up a bit !! I put it in my watch list as I didn't believe it would get any interest at that ridiculous asking price. I do wonder if it got that asking price ? A 50 something guy, walking along the street sees the bike of his youth in the shop window, pops in for a nostalgic look, gets the spin from the salesman, and before you know it, he's 17 again and owns an Lc !! He then joins the forum and realises he paid about 5k too much for it !! Still, give it another year or so and that will be what they are all making !! Dusty

If that hybrid was up for 5k I would snap his arm off !! What bikes are "worth" and what they cost to build are 2 totally different things, but that hybrid would sell 10 times over if it were 5k. When you price the parts up to convert a standard Lc, you couldn't build it for that. Sad but true The Lc on the other hand is way over priced, imo of course Dusty

if the hybrid was a bit cheaper and had the right clocks i might have gone for it.
but 7k is a bit to much.

I think 7k is about right myself, try and build one for anything close rgv front and rear complete can cost around £2k shock, Ypvs motor a grand, pipes, all the fab work, makes it a bargain, states he has a reciept for 6k

I agree about the dash - I like an Lc to keep it's clocks as it's a big part of the "look" for me. You could use that as a bargaining tool if you were interested in the bike, although I doubt they would drop £350 off the price, which is what a half decent set of Uk clocks will cost you at the minute. The ever rising cost of parts is what puts me off doing another build. If I sold one of mine for a decent price, I doubt I could build another one exactly the same for the money - the cost of bits are rising so quickly. It sounds mad, but if you want a decent hybrid with all the bits, and hard work done, buying something like this is your best bet, and probably cheaper in the long run. There is a lot of import Lc's on ebay at the moment, priced between £2200 and £2800 I think. They are all pretty ropey looking. There was a time not that long ago, that a half decent Uk Lc, that you could consider as a start point for a hybrid, would cost you a little over 2k. That base bike is now a good few hundred more, plus you'll have to register it, so more money later on. Then everything you need to build it has risen exponentially. Then of course, the parts you buy need refurbing/painting/coating/repairing before you can use them. You can see how it all starts to add up. I bought my carbon bike - now the white/red Lc hybrid, with a lot of the parts added and jobs done, and paid 4k in late 2015. The engine was knackered, I didn't like the carbon, the standard shock was fubar, no airbox etc etc. I've spent over 3k getting it how I wanted it, and luckily had another engine already, saving me a large expense, otherwise it would have cost a lot more. I think my experience and money spent probably mirrors lots of guys on here, whether they build specials or correct, standard bikes. The big difference between the 2 bikes mentioned here though is the hybrid is priced at roughly what it would cost to build. The Lc isn't even "matching numbers", and I think 5k overpriced, going by the market. It's getting really hard to justify the cost of these bikes nowadays, if you are in the market to buy one, and that doesn't do us enthusiasts any good at all Dusty

Funnily enough little bloke and I were chatting about this earlier, my first hybrid that I built in the late noughties cost me about £3k and I sold it for £3.5k, WKN6X where are you now? My latest build which admittedly has been completely ott will stand me around £15k once its finished including buying the low mileage vgc std import for £2400 was that only 18 months ago. Dusty is right today if you want just a std wish hybrid it will be upwards of £6k just to build then you have the time and hassle etc

Totally agree with what dusty said, I have been saving up parts for years to get my hybrid together, money is tight and I went part time in order to go to uni to get my degree, there is no way I would be able to do it now with the price of the parts that you would need to buy, prices now are crazy.

The hybrid is cheap
I'm about to start out building one, been gathering for about 6 months
No exhausts, no paint, no rearsets, no carbs, no electrics, no rearsets and not built the engine yet and ive spent near £7000
I reckon you can't build one from scratch without spending £10k
