Hi guys, so I've been playing this morning with my new toy, she runs and sounds great so hopefully engine work will be kept to a minimum, or at least until I start playing at a later date. I will be stripping the motor and having it vapour blasted and painted to look pretty though. But for now have larger issues, the bike has a seat/tail unit fitted and to do this the end of the subframe has been cut off, I have posted on the wanted section hoping somebody has the missing bit but my question is how difficult would refitting this be? I assume there is no major alignment issues and as long as its true to the eye it would be enough?? Or am I being too hopeful. Hopefully pics are attached. Hi its a pity you don't have the hacked off bit it would be easy enough to re weld back on . My self I would put a steel slug or tube inside the frame tubes each side and slide the missing end on . Then make sure the panels fitted and weld it up . From the look of it is it a 31k LC2.

Hi I just may have those bits as I cut the back end off a 31k frame recently, to convert by race bike frame...so if they are still in the scrap bin at work your welcome to them... I am back in on Monday, just let me know if that’s of interest....

I have just seen a picture of a LC2 frame and it seems there is quite a lot missing from the frame, I guess its the bits that fit the side panels etc so I may have a few problems with this, anybody able to send me a decent close up of the section so I can see whats missing. Thanks.

Thanks Budgie, the problem is that all the seat fixings and panel fixing are gone too! I think I bought a dud...... frames seem to be stupidly expensive and repairing this unless I can get the whole frame is probably beyond my capabilities. I'll wait and see what bits you have. Thanks.

As you say Phil, frames are becoming rarer and rarer to get good ones with V5.
All the more reason to reapair yours. Frames get cut up all the time. In fact kosaprasa has cut several frames up for people wanting brackets.
It may be beyond you to repair, but to a competent welder it’s a doddle.

Hoping you can see from this to see what bits you’re missing, but maybe best to get a complete rear end from some frame, and as Jon said, not a difficult job for a decent welder, better to save the frame if you can, especially if it’s a matching numbers bike... I will have a look on Monday for you... Gavin

Hi Phil
I will get them boxed and away tomorrow... I want nothing from you, I’ve only pulled them out the scrap bin.... so many good people have helped me on here that it would seem wrong to charge you...nice to give something back....hope you find a good guy who can reconstruct the back end for you, hopefully there will be enough parts for you... Just keep us all updated on the progress.!
