Has anyone had a crank rebuilt by Martin at Mad Bike Designs??
I know a lot of people on this forum have used Grampians i'm just a little worried about sending it by courier this time of year, what with so many parcels going missing and the way they are handled.

Martin is a top lad, should be no problems
If posting anywhere I wrap them in 50mm high density seat foam
You could play football with it wrapped like that
Grampian are good at wrapping too and they are well packed

I'd love to know who MB are using today for rebores, tuning and cranks.
I know Bob Farnham used to do some of his work before retiring. Bob passed his boring bar onto TSR blasting, so I might think about using him next.
Does a nice job of vapour blasting. Had my cases done there.

Jon, recently had my cases cleaned by them, Dave did a good job, was thinking of getting him to re-bore my barrels for me.
Mr kipling, M Dent???
I did email Taymar Racing about crank rebuilds, never got back to me.

I still have to decide whether to stick my freshly re-bored and tuned Bob Farmham's barrels in what project. I think I will phone Bob nearer the time (next year) and see if he is prepared to do a little work in his retirement for a 385. I know I could take the easy route and buy Athena/Cheeta etc, but I've always liked the idealogy of YPVS. At the time such a ground breaking technology. In reality I don't need anything more than a standard YPVS engine, so may well stick to this. Jon

Crank rebuilds are done on behalf of many people by PJME, SEP (Kegworth) or Grampian. IMO go direct to Grampian every time, apart from NSR's which SEP have the necessary jigs.
