I know there are lots of pics and info in the OEM manual about the LC loom runs and Ive been following my copy of that manual, but I almost always seem to end up with the loom too short to reach the rear light / inds by a few inches. This happened on my 421 and also now on my resto, I blamed the aftermarket loom being short on the 421 but im starting to think its me, not the looms now as the resto bike's loom is OEM etc.
Im starting to think my issue is my placing of the loom from the airbox backwards, does anyone have any advice (pics would be great!) on this section? Ive run the loom under the aribox, moving across from the right to the left frame spars before the airbox join and then it runs past the downtubes next to the shock, which seems quite close to me. hmm...
So, while I know Im doing something wrong I just cant seem to work it out, im too close to the problem perhaps lol! ....this is an OEM loom and it should all fit, any advice greatly received, ta!

Often OEM (used) looms have taken a set over the decades and more or less tell you where they want to go?

Rightly or wrongly I have always ran from headlamp, past the left of the steering column and just straight back hugging the top left frame spar

Thanks guys...
Bare, well mine isnt talkin to me...
Headcoats... in the manual it shows the route the other side of the headstock, the cables run through the wire guide, not the loom. Or am I wrong?

Hi Jon, I remember researching this for my stock LC build. The wiring loom is routed on the right side of the head stock, passes through the area (on top of the tube where the round tank rubbers are), on the diagonal and is then clamped to the left frame rail. It passes inside the frame, below the rear tank mount, and the rear light/indicators run straight back along the left frame rail. If you have the battery box in place, there is a guide (two raised plastic fins) for the rest of the loom to slot into. That section of the loom runs at about a 30 degree angle toward the rectifier.
Let me know if you need anymore info Jon, as it's a bit hard to describe.
Cheers, Mark

Cheers, Mark Thanks Mark, thats my take from the manual as well. I will have another look under the battery box and see if thats where im going wrong. And sadly my frame is missing the clip near the airbox, bloody blasters!
