Am using 31k forks and yokes on my project with clip ons. Not really sure what to do about the redundant bar clamps, any ideas? cheers wang

Could you not get them machined off, or use F2 yokes modded for your clocks? Andy.

You could remove the top part of the handlebar clamps Then fit a thin black strap and smaller screws to finish it off. In the least it would be much less obtrusive and wouldn't involve cutting up the Yoke.

Buy a spare one and have the clamps machined off will look so much better

F1 and F2 yokes are what you need. Sell the ones you have to cover the swap cost.

Confused... you wanted to know what to do, and the quick answer was to fit the top triple/yoke from an F1/N1/F2/N2... which if you have it is simple as the lower is the same LC2/31k so just swap the top. If you used those top yokes you can use their bars and not need brackets welding...

Just a question, as they do look much better, but why did you not get the original clip on positioning threads welded up at the same time?
Maybe it's having beetles in the past, but we were always trying to get that 'cal look' by smoothing and filling everything possible.
Did a second take, and I noticed you changed from LC clocks to air cooled?

The XS clocks look better than the LC ones, just need to sort a temp gauge out and change the innards on the Speedo.

Good idea about the clipons as I would struggle with those too. Only problem you might face is that the front end may be too low with the 31k forks and F2 clipons. Jon

Too low would only be the Ergonomics problem . Dropping the 31k forks to fit the oem Yama 'clip ons' would mess the Steering geometry. Nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

Yeah youre back to needing more parts if you want the clip ons on top of the bars like OEM as the 85-on legs are longer. Looks good with the XS clocks tho, something new
