What is the widest tyre you can fit on an LC rim, this is more for looks than performance. It has a 3.00 x 18 at the moment and looks way too skinny.
Cheers

I used to have Metzler Perfect me27 4.00-18 ond my LC standard wheels and I thought that was good at the time.

care... LC rear rim is surprisingly narrow, consequently it pinches in a larger tire Even more than the official size ones. Messing Both looks and handling. Bit wider tires need a bit wider rim.

Thanks. According to Haynes, 3.50 x18 is standard, even that should be an improvement on this 3.00 x 18 already on it.

Often put Avons on the my Commandos way back when, come on a long way since those days..nice to see modern tech being made available for our old bikes. As long as my reflexes can keep up with the pace..

Got the AM23 130/650 Cantilever on the rear of my F2 track bike. They are not road legal and say so on the sidewall

Something to do with the tread pattern rather than size/fitment? They are a hand made Club Racing tyre (pretty soft compound) and come with no guarantee, so not type approved and tested etc. You could run them between MOT's, lots of grip but won't last long

I should think it's more to do with the fact it hasn't been tested for the road as its developed for the track so it doesn't meet the relevant standards required for the road,

Again; take care, Race compound tires have a specific time/age limit, and it's surprisingly short, then they turn to concrete. Also some 130 tires rub the chain on an LC

The 130/650-18 Cantilever is specifically designed for the LC and YPVS, went straight in my F2 without any mods. If you look on eBay (Dennis Trollope is the man), he sells them specifically for them Concrete tyres !, holy smoke
