Chaps, Does anyone have the link for the centre stand mod on the 4L0/4L1 frame?. My back tyre sits roughly 2 inches from the ground, on level ground, centre stand deployed. I'm getting the frame blasted and resprayed, and thought I'd carry out the modification to the centre stand bracket, to 'future proof' the build, to save having to do it again.
Any help/thoughts much appreciated as ever.

2 inches is good, wish mine was as high as that, and mine has packing under the spacers.

Although I'm happy with where the bike sits now, I was going to do the mod anyway while the bike is stripped down to a frame, as I don't want to have to strip it in the future, especially after having the frame sprayed and rebuilding the bike.

I modified the centre stand and not the frame. I had some steel blanks about the size of pound coins welded and ground smooth to the top of the stand where it mates with the frame. Once painted you can't tell. Personally i'd leave well alone if you have 2 inch clear at the rear wheel, just don't let any fat birds sit on it whilst its on the stand and you will be ok!

As long as you don't sit on the bike on the centre stand it won't happen

you need a larger pin that holds the stand on from memory you need to drill to 13mm to take the ovalness out of the frame lugs easy to do no welded bits added

You need to check that the cross tube with the stand mounts on is not rotating, as that can happen too. You could get it welded extra, or replace with a stronger tube and reweld the mounts on.

Thanks Rob, All good info, I will check the welds are still in place. I also recall someone welding thick body washers either side of the bracket to reinforce the pivot point.
