Now that my bike is run in I've been giving it a bit stick and it likes too rev ,infact I think it would rev right through the red on my lc clocks if I let it,what would you suggest the red line should be so I can set it with the zeel,Pv engine ,zeel, mick abbey fast road tune ,tea pipes,

Prefer the coffee pipes myself
Kennys pipes should peak about 9600 but will rev into the red.
I programmed my zeel with a 10500 rev limit and a 9500 shift light
If you've used a new 4L3 clock cover there will be the spare idiot light for the speed warning light on the Jap bikes that you can fit a holder and an led lamp (faster response) and connect to the shift light output.
I used a Jap ypvs tacho for the same reason as it has the red speed warning light in it.
Also the mechanical rev counters can be inaccurate so the light at 9500 will show how far out it is

My Mick Abbey tune with TSA pipes, PWK carbs, v force etc made peak power at 10,200rpm but they reckon keep it under 10 grand If you have the Zeel and fix the limit , maybe allow for a bit of over rev too ?
My engine after several years is getting tired now so feathering it at around 9500 ! and a bit more for that panic overtake manoeuvre LOL

set mine at 10,500 , I too use a jap spec rev counter in my hybrid which I currently use speed for shift light , used one on another hybrid before used it as an oil warning , pretty handy of Yamaha thinking ahead ...

Interesting factoid: At 10.5 k rpms the crank is facing more than ..Double... the loadings/wear than it is at 10k. RPM and wear/loadings are geometric with rpms Just saying.. that extra bit 'O power comes at a cost.

Ian Booms old bike which had a very similar tune to mine with exactly the same TSA pipes but had the full Zeeltronic ignition made more power at less revs , about 9800 it made 71 BHP I guess worth fitting the Zeel just to bring those killer revs down,Pretty sure it was the Zeel doing this

Absolute max revs for me is 10k The 10500 limiter is just a failsafe in case I make an arse of it Steve

Factory onset and full opening points make little sense and produce small perf gains.
