I had read the V2 was a very good reed but fell to pieces causing damage to the engine, the V3 was reliable but not so good as the V2 and the V4 is almost the same as the V2 and reliable. I have a set of V3 reeds and they performed almost the same as the V4 reeds (dare I say it a little more)
You can see it on my dyno read out. There are two lines a reddish colour line and a purple line. The red line is standard reeds and the purple line was only the V3 reeds fitted. It was not back to back as there was about a week in between runs (so that could have some influence), but nothing changed not even tire pressure.
The dyno-graph is about 3/4 down the page. If you want to see it click HERE That's consistent wth everything I've read up on all the VF models. I've heard some good things about the chariot billet reed block too but they don't recommend it for anything too highly tuned like mine. Might work well on a YPVS.

well its been a while since I've updated this thread, been busy you see ! Anyway, had chance to do some work on the bike and ended up rewiring it amongst other things, while I was at it I also fitted the power dynamo and ignitech, and did some tuning/tweaking etc afterwards, still got a bit to sort, but overall I am pleased with the gains, took the bike from 62.6bhp to 67.8bhp, so not too shabby an improvement So its all but done now, I was going to fit a billet head from wicked, which I may still do, but for now, I am going to finish a few bits and peices off that need doing and then just get a few miles on it to see what needs fettling, then maybe I'll get back to testing some other bits and bobs out anyway, the dynograph as its stands at the moment, it should be a nice bike to ride I think...........
