Hi fellas Just to let you know, Andrew, or Mouse as he is known on here, had an accident on his newly finished Lc2 special on Thursday night. He was going round a roundabout near his home when the back end let go dropping the bike over on the right hand side. He has broken his tib and fib below his right knee, and had two punctures from his peg lower down. Possible ligament damage too. He had an op today but hasn't spoken to the surgeon yet as to what they will do next. He's pretty fed up as you can imagine. A passing biker offered to push his bike home, and I popped over last night to check the bike was there, which it is thankfully. Rear tyre is flat which may point towards the cause of the accident. I hope to visit him in the next day or two and we keep you all updated. He is in St Georges in Tooting. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing him a very speedy recovery and hope he's back on a bike soon. Dusty

I can't quite believe this news, shocked. I only saw Andrew Wednesday evening at Dustys house.
Dusty, I know your going to see him in hospital, so please pass on everybody's best wishes from the forum for a speedy recovery. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
Cheers Mark

Hi all Spoke to Andrew this afternoon. He is quite comfortable, the leg isn't too painful thankfully. The op on Saturday was to check the wound was clean which it was thankfully. He is now awaiting an MRI scan to assess possible ligament damage around his knee. Hopefully the MRI will be tomorrow. Depending on the outcome, that will then shape what happens next - time in hospital, another op etc. He has seen the messages on the forum and appreciates everyone's good wishes. He still hopes to be at Brands, without his bike !, in July, and if he has a full cast as first mooted, I will bring him in the back of my van !! I'm collecting his bike tonight and will store it in my garage until he is home. It's supposed to rain a fair bit over the next few days so I will get it under cover. He is already planning the repair and rebuild so that's good news. I will keep you updated on his progress if he doesn't beat me to it !! Regards Dusty

Hi I took lots of pics of the bike for Andrew when I checked it had made it to his house last week. He cant bring himself to view them yet, and it wouldn't be right for me to post them here without him seeing them first. I'm sure he will post pics if he wants to. The fact he was wearing full leathers, boots and gloves, in spite of Thursday evening being very warm, has saved him from more serious injuries, but only his crash helmet survived - everything else was cut off by the Paramedics. He was round my house last Wednesday as we rebuilt his Ypvs engine from his black Lc hybrid, and he showed me the scar on his right calf from a previous accident that reminded him to always wear his leathers ! 24 hours later it proved to be the right decision !! And the fish and chips he was bringing home when the accident happened, sadly didn't survive !!

I was out on Sunday for a ride, and a guy pulled into the petrol station as I was filling up....on an R1... in shorts, flip flops and no gloves....the only safety gear he had on was his helmet.... I was boiling in my leathers...I couldn't help myself and told him what I thought... safety gear should be a standard legal requirement....! get well soon Mouse...good job you had some gear on....
