Still suffering head gasket failures, I have had my head skimmed but still failing, got annealed copper gasket, has anyone had their barrels skimmed?

Yes, barrels can be out. I had a jig made to get barrels skimmed as a pair. My engineering place has it available and can do the job for you. PM me for contact details.

Lose the copper gasket! Those things are more trouble than they are worth. Fit an OEM style one as a start.. Much less aggro involved. Could try tightening the cyl base bolts ..After the cyl head has been torqued.

You might be able to dremmel the middle out of a standard head gasket to make it big enough. Have done this on a 4L0 engine.

Didn't know you could go 2.25 bore on a YPVS ? Thought 2.00 was the max ?
Maybe look for some more barrels with a bit of meat left on them ?

Dremel out a genuine gasket.
Base nuts loose, torque head, tighten base nuts

I just got a pair fresh rebore first oversize £160 Then add in the cost of pistons and you aren't that far from £400 which is how much I got a set of barrels relined to standard plus pistons and piston kit.

+1 for what Steve midlife said . When I was using a copper head gasket I used a product called Wellseal on it . Worked like a charm for me .

I forgot to say they came with used pistons which have no marks on them but I bought new pistons anyway

hmmm Wellseal looks interesting
Barrels sent off to get a skim, will then use the copper gasket and wellseal when they come back and hope for the best

I use Permatex Copper spray Gasket - It's a high temperature sealant used in conjunction with gaskets. Made in the USA. It fills minor irregularities and effective in sealing non absorbent surfaces. (I'm copying the wording on the tin).
You can get it on Ebay

Make sure you are getting the barrels skimmed as a pair, as if you do them individually, they may not be perfectly in line with each other when fitted on the crankcases.

The barrels have some slight doming (is that a word) on the barrel surface caused by some dodgy helicoiling being pulled up by tightening the head, the engine chaps are redoing the helicoils and skimming flat so fingers crossed my LC Hybrid will be running again next week.
