evening lads quick question for you all how easy is it too change the clutch arm on my ypvs ( where the cable attaches) for some reason mines bent & needs sorting it also not lining up with the casing arrow , so i thought first thing get it changed , i take it the carbs got too come off ? cheers

Hi Pete
Carbs off,oil out,water out,clutch case off Back off adjuster in the center off the clutch Unbolt the hold down bracket and you should be able to wiggle it out Can't you straighten it and adjust it

There is a 'holding it in' device on the Clutch shaft arm. Arm will Not pull up with it in place. Might be the actuatiing rod thru the centre of the cltch .. Can't remember exactly.. creeping senility I'm afraid. Check out a parts diagram to see how it works and where /what keeps it from lifting out Remove it and the arm simply lifts out from the case top Case arrow lining up is of small importance.

Replaced it with a new oem Yama one from a much nwer bike early R6 (memory though) Newer cables have a threaded end at the clutch shaft end. This can be made to fit into the case bosses on the 350 (bit of fettling) which solidly locks the cable end in place. Unlike the worthless/crap wire cable holddown thing that comes stock on a Valvie Also :-) adds another V useful adjustment point. Arrows are visual aids Simply doesn't matter if they don't line up. All that matters is that the clutch works cleanly.
