I think most are M10 bolts, so 10mm ID washers :-)

Under the impression, all the bolts are the same size, and it's just the pitch that alters from manufacturers. Thought they were M10.....Can't you just anneal them, or are they badly squashed or distorted?

If the washers are sealing there should be no need for PTFE tape. Wouldn't use it myself, except on toilets

Are you using a genuine bleed nipple
A lot of pattern ones don't seat right so the let little bubbles in causing your type of problems

Heat the washers to cherry ted , then dump em in cold water , this will soften them enough to reuse

They do need to be torqued up too... Helped someone the other day who has fluid pissing out everywhere and was distraught. He couldn't stop it whatever he tried...Anyway I checked the torque...they were 'loose tight', so I went up one setting to 'tight tight' 😀😀😀 problem solved. They were new washers btw.

No.. I believe annealing is heating then letting the metal cool all by itself. Quenching is for hardening.. is it not?

Possibly, but as I said they were new so should have been good to go. Thing is M10 can take some torque, don't be frightened! Just looking to try find what they should be done too but can't find my list for the mo.

No.. I believe annealing is heating then letting the metal cool all by itself. Quenching is for hardening.. is it not? Different metals behave differenty. Copper is annealed just by the heating. After that it doesn't matter how you cool. Fast or slow it's the same. Steel alloys are different, fast cooling can 'freeze' the small crystaline structure and stops them from formering the larger crystalline structure which has different properties.

Jeez, not even worth the effort of annealing. Just pop into your local car accessory shop and grab a pack of new ones, they aren't expensive! 10mm id standard copper sealing washers.

If i have a choice i would prefer to use ally washers over copper as they seem to work better.

Ok if you are sure your bolt has a M10 diameter then all youneed is an outside diam that just fits under the head of the bolt
so M10 x 12 or 14mm should do
both are standard sizes, btw you need to buy fuel washers not plumbing washers which are not thick enough
