Treated her to a set of new plugs, and bought myself a gold visor to match her wheels (and the RZ wheels too). It's like a different bike altogether with the new plugs 😁

Another quality Highlander production.....Alas, my 500 has started misbehaving again last Sunday, sometimes there is power past 6k, sometimes not, feels like either the PVs are not opening or a cylinder is chiming in and out.. tomorrow I have a plug cap(they are still original) swap scheduled, fingers crossed.

was waiting for the front end to come up lol oh well. 75 hp ( for a good one) and 200+ kg wet with a high first gear does not make it a great wheelie machine.

Hope it works out for you Copper keep us updated. Mine was awful last time I rode it, it was only running on two cyclinders and intermittently firing on the others luckily I wasn't far from home anyway I tested the coils all fine then tried some new plugs and it was as simple as that. To be honest I should've done them as a matter of course when I first bought it but you know how it is. I now have a pop cracking beast of a 500 running on all four daft really a set of plugs isn't even a tenner 😂
I have been thinking about selling it and getting an R1M but riding it yesterday there's no way I can do that! You can not put a price on the place I go to in my head when those power valves are wide open 😈😈😈
It will wheelie too its not as good as my R1 or the LC obviously but you can hook it up, I don't really try to often as it is just that little bit precious to treat like that but having said that I haven't had it right up to balance point but when it lifts I tend to just ride it out 😈

Is that pitenween harbour on the east coast? Close, it's Anstruther. Hi, Really nice pics, and country side. It,s making me want to get out on mine, not had any weather or the right shift pattern yet, but I gave it a poke and a gurry today, first job will be to wheel it out the house and blow the stoor off it with an airline ! Seems lots have been out already, am at the coo,s erse again, but Im blaming the weather. Anstruther is a nice wee place, I visited it on my way back from RAF Leuchars Air Show a few years back. I visited the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, The last time I visited it I was about six or seven years old. There is a plaque in the Memorial Room to my Grandfather, Thomas Harvey DSM, who was lost at sea during storms on the 11/12/1972 from the Maidens fishing vessel "Wisteria", four miles South of Dunure. steven. www.scotfishmuseum.org/memorial-room-and-safety-at-sea

Ideal middleweight territory, used to be one of my favourite haunts back in my powervalve days 🙂 Funny you should say that Kev, the local roads are the sole reason I bought a KR1-S. Don't get me wrong I love a good rash up through the highlands on the R1 but locally the little strokers can't be beat 👍

Hope it works out for you Copper keep us updated. Update on my bikes running problems mate, the crankseals where goosed and where it had stood for many years , the rings on 2 pots had gummed up solid, on the plus side, the builder says the mileage appears to be genuine, no one had been inside it previously and whilst the rubber elements are shot, everything major is unworn , undamaged and the bores are on std size , unmarked but glazed. However its still a £600 parts list but its not going to end up being a huge bill.....and more importantly should be out on it again in a couple of weeks..

That's good to hear pal, obviously nobody ever likes a £600 bill however it could be an awful lot worse.
