Just 3 years after being rebuild my YPVS motor is leaking oil from the case seam in frond of the barrels. I believed it was exhaust gasket leak but I cleaned it and fired it up for 10 minutes and spotted it.
Not happy I have to strip it down again... will be redoing gaskets and crank-seals.
I guess this the joy of owning a 32 years old stroker..

Im trying to figure out what went wrong.. I have been reading about diferent product used to seal the cases and im getting more confused.. What should it be?
Yamabond 4? Treebond 1108, 1184, 1215 ...
Anyone with a long tested engine out there?
Thanks

Hi Kostas i can't help you with why your sealant failed but if you want advice over a good sealant then i would advise you to use Loctite 5910 i have used a lot of different sealants over the years but nothing beats this in my opinion. The down side of this sealant is it will be more difficult to split your engine casings after you have used it.
Edit
Also i wouldn't use it for my engine as it is over the top. I just use what Norbo sold me.
