Where do i start, purchased my 350ypvs in 2010 after getting divorced and like many 50+ males, longed for the smell of 2 stroke again, so i did what we are always told not to do, rushed out and purchased one rather than take my time, my frame number is 31K008206, can just about make it out due to the cables wearing away the paint, i believe this number is for 83/84 31K the reg document says the bike was registered in 1986 and is on a D plate which if i'm correct should make the it a 350 ypvs N but its not, it has 31k clocks, forks, swing arm etc, did they still make 31K's in 86??? My insurance document says its a 350 ypvs N which it isn't "I THINK" WHAT DO I INSURE IT AS?

The dates your quoting are manufacture dates. Its quite possible it sat in a showroom for 2 years.

That's what i thought markhoopy, not sure why my insurance have have it down as a 350 N, think i need to put them straight..
Jon, that is quit possible, it was that little voice in my head that kept on saying "it's a lemon" that made me ask the question.

Maybe they just thought it was a 350N from the 1986 date of registration but if your bike has the bikini fairing etc then quite likely sat in a showroom for a year or two that's all.

Just insure it as an RD350 ypvs. I didn't think insurance co's went into that level of detail?

Neither did i rich, wanted to make sure the documentation was correct just incase, you know how companies will try not to pay out if they can.
As my renewal was due i rang my insurance (carol nash) to ask them to change the model to an LC2, they said their system is linked to the DVLA and the model registered with them is an N, i rang the DVLA and they informed that the system doesn't have the model on it, i asked her if my insurance company was telling porkies, she said yes, got back onto carol nash and they said they would rectify it on their system, lets wait and see what my documents say when i receive them..
