Thought I'd share this with the forum since so many people contact me about the fitting of the ignitechs and also the power dynamo's So, a customer (forum member) asked if I would fit and set up an ignitech and power dynamo to their bike (31k), so yesterday was the day, they duly arrived around 8:30am from Scotland and we got the bike loaded onto the dyno. After starting the bike, we went for cuppa while it warmed up, once nicely warmed up, I set it up on the dyno and then did a few power runs, initially things weren't looking too good (17bhp) is all it could manage So after some fiddling I got it running properly and got it do a very respectable 56bhp - so I said my work was done and he could go home ! - anyway, after some laughing and joking, they promptly went off for some breakfast while I started on tne bike So the cdi, power valve controller, stator, flywheel and coils where all removed, and all of the new parts fitted and set up, then the ignitech was programed with one of my maps and we did some basic checks and adjustments, after a short while the bike was running very nicely and started with half a kick of the starter, throttle response was very crisp and the bike sounded really eager. The results are easy to see and given this is a stock 31k with the exception of some expansion chambers, that was the only deviation from stock (even still running the snorkel) The bike is now making 61bhp but most importantly gains have been made from 4750k rpm onwards, and peak power is now made nearly 400rpm less, down from 10200rpm, to 9800rpm The graph is below; He left a very happy man ............. It's a fresh built motor Dave and probably won't go on the road before it comes too you. So how do I " run it in"? Will s few heat cycles do the job??? Don't want it going pop. If I can help it

yeah a few heat cycles and we can run it with a light load on the dyno for a while to get some miles on the engine and we don't need to kill it to set it up

to give a rough idea of what needs to be saved up for, how much is it roughly to get this sort of work done on one of these? Just starting a 31K that'll have a rebuilt engine and it'd be nice to get it running properly and reliably when it's finished.
