Chaps, I've got the spannies, fork brace, bellypan and gilly. Were rearsets the normal upgrade too? If so, what were used please and any pics? I never had 1 back in the day by the way.

I had Mel Le Moto rearsets back in the 80's i thought they were very basic so ended up making my own which looked much better.
Tarozzi's are ok but i realised this winter i was getting problems with my knees if was more than say an hour or so on my bike with them

Proddy race rules ones.....same bracket, mount rear pegs on it, further back and higher, extend gear change linkage, bend rear brake pedal backwards to suit. Cheap as chips and does the job. And a "real" back in the day look, must of been hundreds if not thousands done like this!

I knew someone would want piccies...but sadly I haven't got any, sorry. But what I do remember is that the rear pegs were fitted in one of the holes in the LC footrest brackets, done with two spacers on each side of the bracket and a spacer with a hole in it within the bracket hole, the 2 spacers were large washers. Remember drilling a hole in the footrest brackets to re position the gear change linkage. There may even be a magazine article somewhere on how to do this mod...maybe motorcycle mechanics and possibly the one featuring Matt Oxley on the cover with "all" the 250 tuning info on his winning bike.
PS Some folk just reversed an aircooled lever rather than extend the LC linkage.

Hi Just took this pic of pegs on a standard hanger; The washers have a shoulder around them so they sit in the hole and don't move around. Dusty

What Steve said and Dustys picture is best method.
Terry beckitt used to make them, Tho his had a complete new brake set up, small pedal, short link. If I remember correctly. .It was the first large hole that was used. Beckitts alloy pegs were cast, so would snap easy in an off. I made a fair few spare pegs, quick and easy to change if needed.

Hi Nigel The brake and gear change set up I have are the same as your pic. I've got them in a box somewhere !! These came on the carbon Lc so I have no idea who made them. Dusty

It was also very common in proddy and road applications to simplify the gear shift arrangement when using repositioned foot rest by just reversing the gear change using a shorter lever. I leaves the bike 1 up 5 down but actually once you are used to it it makes for more positive upshift..

Russpuss, Russpuss, I came across these yesterday, squirrelled away in a box of bits for my latest LC hybrid build. I remember reading this thread at the time, but not remembering where I'd stashed them. They are period by the looks of it, but I've no idea who made them. They've got a cog logo etched into them with the letters 'M J' which I assume is the maker, and 'RD' which I assume is the fitment.

I have a set of the shouldered washer thingys to fit into the hole on the standard mount - just like in the pictures above.
they came with my bike and Im never going to use them - anyone interested in them I can get some pictures tonight.
they are 2 piece and clamp together using the bolt into the footpeg.
