Hi Carl, i cant see the video but the Koso systems generally have two power wires being red and brown. If you have connected it up correctly the time/date always stays on with all other functions out. The red wire should go on the positive battery side before the ignition switch and the brown wire on the power side after the ignition switch.
Easy to check if you disconnect the postive pole on the battery. Still with the ignition off if you re-connect the pole, the clocks it should go through the start cycle and the clock should start up at 00:00 and switch itself off again.
If you want all systems out until you put the ignition on, join the red and brown wire's together on the power feed after the ignition. The info i have given is general for Koso.

Just a bump on this, as I'm thinking of getting one of these as well, how easy to fit are they, are they large enough to see when riding, and is the display bright enough on a sunny day?? (not sure if they are more car designed) How are you getting on with yours now??
cheers

They work well in the sun. Just remember if you connect it up according to Koso it will draw a small amount of charge from the battery for the clock function.
One other thing i bought one secondhand for myself and it was very slow to react in the rpm setting but this was a very basic model with only rpm, and temperature functions.
The other types i have seen have all worked very well.
