How do you go about derestricting them and upping the power to the same as the UK spec bike?

Think it's just the old restrictor in the header and jetting.
Personally I don't see a problem with an rz500.
As long as it is either registered or comes with previous country docs and is on the nova system
Nicer spec and usually lower miles and not rusty

RZV's are the only ones with the alloy frame, so hopefully no rust, but can suffer from the alloy pitting. Make sure it doesn't go backwards

rz500 is a better bike, and about 20kg lighter

and they have better forks RZV is better then uk bike but uk bike has more power you need to remove restriction and up jet to up the RZV power
