Lads…… I am seeking your advice on fitting a set of 1UA power jet carbs to my standard 350 4L0.
Is any modification required to the inlet ports on the barrel?, would pv carb rubbers fit on the 4L0 barrels etc?.
And finally, are the gains of fitting them worth doing?, I'm not really looking for more power, just better delivery.
Any thoughts/comments would be welcome.

Power valve rubbers fit on a 4lo, you just need to trim the "ears" off that sit inside the inlet

Dunno about the powerjet variety, as I have 31k versions on mine, with pv rubbers, did read somewhere fitting those was a benefit though. 31k are of a similar design to the originals, just not as old so maybe not as worn out, so mine arnt much of a leap, powerjet I presume a totally different design.

Its been mooted that 31k carbs perform better than the older 4L0's but I am unsure as to actually why, and only have hearsay that they are 'better', no actual dyno testing on the same day, same engine etc

I can tell you I keep swapping between 4l0-00, 4l0-01 and 31K carbs and have not noticed any difference. The only thing I realized was I did not like the spring clip fitting of the 31K throttle slides as it can be a bit iffy and not so secure as the older type. I agree with Jonw on this. I also think because we love these bike we can be a bit too extreme (anal)

not noticed any difference between the 2 carbs on bikes, but ironically I have a bike in at the moment that has 31k carbs on and I have my master set of 4L0-01 carbs, so if I get chance I'll do a quick dyno test and settle it once and for all !

I have swapped between 31K, 4L0-01 and 31W carbs and not noticed any difference, or seen any difference on the dyno.

Powerjet carbs allow an extra bit of adjustment, so there may be a slight gain to be had there.

For better delivery you'll have to drop the whole powervalve engine in the bike
