hi all got a bit of polishing too do in man cave soon swinging arm , forks ect so im after a decent polisher i want something that has got plenty of gutts & will last me as some look a bit cheap n nasty on ebay i hate buying cheap shit tools then having too buy again seen some with 200 watt motor? what you got ? cheers

I just use a decent bench grinder with the spindle ends you get off ebay to take the polishing wheels

Get the most powerful one you can afford. Cheap ones stall when you start putting on the pressure and you will get pissed off with it. Some people just use the motor from an old washing machine as they have loads of torque.

350Watts are better as they don't slow under pressure.

any good 8" one is what you want half a horse if you go a 1 house one the revs half and you need the rpm to get a good finish .

As JJ says washing machine motors are the go
Crompton & Parkinson 1428rpm will do it nicely, they are easy to find too, we used one to drive an old Myford lathe
