Standard lc wheels will make it look a lot more original. Looks like they are 31k forks too which makes the mudguard sit a little weird

Forks are LC, 4L0/1.
LC wheels will fit but you would have to loose the disc brake on the rear.

Look like standard 4lo forks to me! Major work to get the standard back wheel in if retaining the disc set up, I would put a standard back wheel with the drum set up, looks a bit clumsy at the mo. Front standard wheel with standard discs will drop straight in but again will need work to get those calliper brackets to match up. Keep the callipers but look into getting the right calliper bracket for the standard disc set up, NK racing does them. Will work very well. Very Nice bike though. Mark.

You can fit TZR125 3-spoke wheels. 4FL model rear and 3PC front. Polished rims too...

Love the pipes, waiting for Kenny to finish mine, can't wait. You impressed with them? Mark.

Just need to adjust calliper brackets to centre the wheel. I modified a 2MA rear sprocket carrier to fit in the 4FL rear wheel. Had the lip machined off for the outer seal and used a sealed bearing instead. NK Racing made the calliper hanger and spacers. I think 4HW are the same as 4FL. Rear wheel is a 3.5" by 17"

Suggest you Do Not go to 17" wheels.. They just Look 'wrong' on an LC or Valvie. (spare me :-) LC wheels are too thin. Your Valvie wheels are a bit wider allowing tires to Not be pinched in IMO the Worst part about your early valvie wheels is their Colour. Dull Lifeless flat black doesn't even look good on a BBq. Try painting them any other colour .. First? I would.

Hi Pete, I don't think you will get a definitive answer to your question - there are so many opinions as to what looks right or wrong that getting an overall decision is not gonna happen !! I like the early pv wheels with the holes more than the later "slotted" type, but the slots are a lighter wheel if weight is an issue. As Bare said, a repaint would lift the whole look of the bike - the wheels are a big surface area so a different colour would have a big impact. If cost and hassle are an issue, repainting what you have will be the easiest option, plus you keep the brakes and there are no engineering jobs to do. I like hybrids and all mine have 3 spoke wheels which, imo, look awesome and work well but it's each to their own, and the fact that your bike is a hybrid anyway means you can do your own thing more readily. Here is a comparison - I swapped the black wheels on my recently sold Lc for white wheels, did the back wheel first; Now whilst white wheels aren't everybody's thing, I thought the transformation was amazing; And my old 400 had "different" pv wheels; Dusty

The problem you may have going to LC wheels is your calipers I have ap calipers and they are deeper than standard 4lo calipers so may interfere with the spokes on 4lo wheels.

Hi Pete,
Nice bike and I quite like the black wheels as they are! As Dusty said, it comes down to taste. Dusty's pics also show perfectly the difference and effect between the white and standard colours - personally I like the both, but each gives a certain style. I went through weeks of searching and looking at photos of LC wheels for my current bike!!!! In the end, I decided on standard for my project as it seems to go with most colour schemes and look classic.
Good luck with your choice ....
Rich

Hi Pete The hard work looks to have been done on your bike already A pv rear wheel wont slot straight in to an arm designed for an Lc wheel, so your swingarm is either an arm designed for an Lc frame/pv rear wheel, or more likely the caliper carrier has been made so it will fit with the wheel into an arm designed for an Lc wheel. I understand what you mean about the colours - when I got my carbon Lc project it was all black/carbon coloured and looked too much for my taste. There is minimal alloy or chrome on show on these bikes - not like their predecessors that had chrome mudguards, fuel caps, bars etc. As a cheap experiment, why don't you try some coloured rim tape on your wheels ? Loads of different colours on ebay and it is an easy way to make an instant impact. Dusty

Polishing rims, especially ones that have been painted over, is Not a trivial task. Lotsa hours involved. Just saying.

Yeah they are all the same size. I once ran Lockheeds on my LC with LC2 wheels - worked great but the bleed nipples were scary close to the hub on the inside!
