Hi all just sold something to someone who has sent the payment fine.
Went to withdraw the money and it says I need to link my bank account in.
Started to do that but it then requests a direct debt thing.
I dont really want to give paypal my bank account details is there a way around this as I have never had to do it before?

PayPal is linked to your bank account so you can spend money with PayPal and also with draw funds. No way round it I'm afraid

Its only ever had a bank card details in it before and works fine I've never had my bank details etc in it. I dont like the look of the DD form as it means they can take money from the account and not from the card

Hi I had the same issue recently after selling a few parts on here. I too didn't want to complete the process when I saw they could have access to your account. I think Paypal/Ebay go too far. Ebay is a necessary evil unfortunately and Paypal takes the p**s. Unless someone knows different, you're over a barrel I'm afraid Dusty

I thought you had to link PayPal to bank card rather than account,so if you sell something then withdraw all the money they can they get fee's due from linked bank account thru the DD. I don't like it or the fees but this is progress I guess - is LOOT still published?

If you tried withdrawing funds they should be available unless of coarse you haven't linked your paypal with bank.. it's safe to do from experience and iv'e never had any problems as yet over the last few years. they only need direct debit set up so they can get there percentage out of any sales made by yourself if buyer pays with paypal.
