Hi , balancing f2 carbs , got both slides lifting spot on together , then checking carb body windows one slide dot in visible but one isn't , if I adjust so there both in together they go out of sink , is it down to a crappie cable or am I missing something ?

I would go for a gen yam cable , i had issues with my 4l1 running to rich and after taking advice from from Gary (arrow) i sorted it all out , the majority of the issues was a pattern cable . I didnt realize that such small alterations and adjustments would have such a big effect so its imperative IMO to go genuine yamaha cables .

Cheers Gary , am going to try and get a gen yam one , I no there a bit expensive but even the good pattern ones can be a bit hit and miss, like Davey is saying a few mm difference and your struggling ,

if you know the slides are physically in synch, I wouldn't worry about the windows. They are inaccurate anyway

bbq stick method, just make sure the mouths of the carbs are clear of slides when on WOT!

Drill bit under the slides to set the idle screws the same. Then synch the cables to make sure the slides lift by the same amount and at the same time. As above, look down the back of the carbs and make sure the slides disappear at the same time on WOT.
