OEM beats pattern 99 times out of a 100 in my experience. I only use patern parts for non-critical items, or where the expense or non-availability of OEM dictates.
You should name and shame the supplier so as to warn other forum members off making the same mistake.

Rgds Ozhammer In fairness i don"t think its about nameing and shameng..I was aware that it was not buying genuine parts and i am sure that the small ends would have done the job.... Its a different matter when you buy a spurious part and the bloody thing doesn"t even fit...

I have used yambits about 7 times for non critical items and found them ok ; I even bought some carb manifold rubbers and carb repair kits and appear to be ok ?
I suppose I will now have my epilates ripped off ; my sword snapped and expelled LOL

I used pattern small ends when I rebuilt my 350. Never again. After 800 easy miles they failed.

I've used them too - gear lever rubber, inline fuse, tab washer etc .. fast delivery (but all sent recorded so not cheap) and a big range too. The bad reputation is for seals, bearings, and all things important

Makes me laugh this OEM haha. Yamaha dont make em. The ones from Grampian are just fine, KOYO bearings are brilliant too. Stuff like Cables i always buy Yamaha. Thinking you need small ends with Yamaha on the bag is ridiculous.

So maybe when we talk about oem we should say " to oem standard "...

Practical sportsbikes is being supplied by yambits to do their tdr rebuild. Let's see if anything untoward is reported. It'll be a hoot if they supply them with their crank seals.

As an aside, I rebuilt it (new crank, barrel, two pistons and a head....) and used little ends from yamaha and it's run perfect since on the same set up, over 3000 miles.....
