Hi all Bit of a newbe with ypvs engines & don't want too fook it up so I been in garage tonight putting bike back together as Mick abbey worked his magic The question is I'm using good gaskets of Norbo Athena I'm finding that one goes with writing up & onther with writing down ? This is the only way they fit also I've notice that one gasket overlaps the other just slightly ? As for piston circlip said I've fitted them so the gap is at the top hope this is right Cheers Pete

Hi Pete The gaskets do fit with one writing upside down I trim the insides slightly so they don't overlap as it can cause sealing problems Hope this helps Matt

The genuine Yamaha gaskets I use on the oil pumps only fit one way, but can be stamped out from either side of the sheet. No worries.

Pete hi, as yogi said trim the edge of the gasket so they don't over lap this can cause problems with the head gasket later on. interesting about the gap on the circlip I have put them on the side for the last 30 plus years and have had no problems with them. what I do with them though if they have a tail on them is I snip it off with cutters .
