Do any of you guys have thoughts on the best tyre choice/fitment for the 4L0 350?, I appreciate a lot of it will be personal preference, but I'm just looking for a decent all rounder really. The bike is standard & will probably just be used for short local blasts, so I'm not too bothered about longevity. Also any info on sizing would be appreciated. Obviously I don't want to jeopardise the already sketchy handling! (Compared to modern stuff). I'm guessing I'll have to stick to inner tubes rather than tubeless too?.
As ever chaps all input very much appreciated.
Regards bezzer

Tyres are v subjective. The choice seems to be Avons on Bridgestone's. Both are as good as each other. I always use Brodgestones on my Ninja however I have Avon's on my Elsie. Have ridden both but think the Avon is a prettier tyre. Not very helpful eh but they're much of a muchness :-)

i,m a big fan of the avon road rider. i ride all year round in various weathers and they do inspire confidence. good mileage too. regularly over 20,000 miles front and back on my under powered cb250.

I've got BT's on my 350LC and Roadriders on the 250LC and both good tyres, much better than back in the day. Definitely need the inner tubes though. Had a bad experience when tyre fitter told me not needed, but he proved to be wrong!

Thanks Shaun, Did you go with standard size?. I read ages ago about a bloke who put a wider rear on, but if screwed up the handling?

My 1981 350LC was fitted with a 1978 rear Metzeler before I changed it a few months ago. Had plenty of tread but was as hard as hell. I only did 20 miles on it, but assume the previous owner got his monies worth!
