I've got my original model 33 Simpson lid in white from 1982 sat in the wardrobe.
Still the best looking lids ever in my opinion

Yess have one too (memories). Would I use it? Would I buy a current one? Not a Hope in Hell. Ain't NO Arai Or Shoei.. Hell not even an HJC. These were reputedly sketchy decades ago, surprised they are still in business.

Hi I still have an early Bandit I bought whilst in Florida back in the late 80's. Loved that helmets looks, but it was so noisy at any speed over 50mph. I didn't care back then though !! And those first Simpson "Star Wars" helmets were just soo awesome, especially in white with the black visor fitted Dusty

Couldn't agree more, a rubbish helmet, with great looks this new ones visor looks like it was made in a shed. I've got an early-ish version but didn't realise there was more than one model of it.

The model 33 was the original Star Wars lid , it had a very narrow visor aperture , which was supposedly why it wasn't road legal , and it looked the bollox (especially to a 17 yr old 250 lc owner like me ) mine was (is) white with a black visor , I agree with dusty they're unbelievably noisy at speed and over 120 mph mine was pushed back onto my nose which wasn't pleasant , but not a problem on an lc I've been tempted a few times to wear mine once more for old times sake but the consequences of something going wrong whilst wearing it aren't worth it

Yes that was the one I had, I also bought the updated version a couple of years ago, (my original totally disintegrated inside) I thought it was the angular nose and chin section that it failed on, as it could grab whilst rolling down the road and break the neck, still use mine occasionally, and all I get is....whooaahhh It's the STIG etc etc

Well it's my Simpson and pic on Norb's page and if you hit anything at 120mph, you are f**ked anyway !
