Just had the sample tank it today . I fitted it to my bike in the living room and it fits fine at the back and the front so that's a relief. I ca tell you with all the crap India ones I was a bit worried it would not fit right . But it fitted lovely . The primer is wrong it needs to be an etch primer so ill get that change but any little things I need changing I can do . I was thinking I'm going to see if they can to a flush fitting one like for specials may be get just 20 made . A couple of people out side the EU have asked if they could get a deal on then to sell in OZ or the US I think we can work something out if you want 10 save on posting them out 1 at a time and would help getting some money back on the investment to do a few in bulk at a deal price so you can make a on them as well be better for people in OZ and the US as well I think to have them all ready in the country . but we will have to see if there is any interest in any one doing this. They are going to work out at £385 I think all In once they are landed its still a guess but less then the £450 I figured they would be. But I have a better idea now what they are going to cost once landed. Id say they are very close copy once p[ainted I think you would be hard pushed to tell they are not a gen yam tank and that's what I was hoping for . .

That looks impressive norbo , do you have any idea of cost yet? yes mate I just realised I didn't put any price so I edited it as I think that's going to right once landed for them. still a couple of things id like them to do like to make shure the lip at the bottom is the same on both sides although the one on my yam tank is a little linger one 1 side then the other so the same one may have been the same . and the fuel cal is machine welded except for the last 20mm and id like it all the way round if possible I may be to picky but its been like 7 years or there about since ive been trying to get the tank copped . Next year look in to 31K tanks may be if I get some money back from these ones. .

Looking good, and not a bad price compared to second hand rusty unknown inside condition ones which will need painting just the same.

Have they used a slightly thicker gauge steel as the originals were made from bean cans

Norbo ,well done at that price its a steal. As in headcoats question about how thick is the steel .I myself said at the time they could do with being made with thicker gauge steel .then when you think how long the original tanks have lasted ,these if they are made of the same gauge will out live us lol.

I'm getting 10 in about 4 to 6 weeks first come first serve they are the same as lc tanks I wasn't going to complicate things by asking for thicker steel . I just want this tank as it is they lasted over 30 years last time and these will do the same. when you start changing things like the same as sample but only do this different that's when things don't fit

With thicker steel its very hard to get the same shape where the corners and beads are rolled into the tank. Besides with the age of most of us on the forum the tanks will out live us lol
