Make ten posts on this forum, then you can see the for sale section. There is a chap on this forum who has 125s on a regular basis, He has some cracking bikes at cracking prices. He's called museumman

agree museumman brings them in all th etime and not to bad on the price . and as he is on hear all the time is all ways good for help and advice with anything you have of him . Unlike a bike from e=bay once its yours its yours and they dont want to hear from you again. but id say the white bike about £800 in todays market

The reason to buy an import is that they are usually totally un-molested which makes a massive difference due to parts and paint job prices. Unfortunately that French bike above has too many broken or missing rare parts to make it worth the asking price. if you're after originality you're going to blow a grand in no time.
You could slap some of Norbo's Kenny Roberts decals on the white paint and tinker around to make it a good runner as a custom/ special
missing fairing, very rare part and expensive, as are the 2 sets of brackets to hold it on (you can get replica bits from Norno's shop though) Front mudguard has been cut down at front (you could cut the rear down to match for a special) £25-£30 for good used one right side panel broken mounting stub has a bolt through it to tank £15 - £20 for used one Rear tail broken, needs binning unless you have another broken one for free, your body shop can cut the missing piece from and weld) £20-£40 for used one rear number plate holder and mudguard both cut down (ok for a special) roughly £35 each to replace with original no rear grab rail (again ok on a special look) missing round indicators and olive green stems (the ones on there you could sell if they're original Yamaha) Norbo does reproduction MK1 type which look bettew Missing center stand, rare and around £50 for a good used one + new spring and bolt wrong handle bars wrong exhaust, but that MK3 one looks ok and will run ok
Things you need to know: how many rust spots on fork stanchions and any near seals? rust in tank? any bodges on wiring loom? is the center stand mount still on frame?
budget for new tyres, theyre 1980s Michelins new chain/ sprockets other new consumables likely, cables, fuel tap- pipe etc
sounds like it will need complete motor freshen up
the frame needs re-painting, not worth paying the reg costs IMO, which is roughy the same has having one powder coated, so you end up paying double. Ive got some imported frames with near mint factory paint that aren't worth much due to reg costs, if I dont build them back up, they're worth the value of the center stand mount and belly pan lugs people need to repair Uk frames. I would probably sell imported matching frame and crankcases for £80
