I know this is your project .. your new hidey-hole .. but is there a reason why you didn't build the new one up in the far left corner? If it were there you would open out your garden more and have a bigger open space with less shading from the new building, and it would also mean you could have a window facing the sun to let light in through the day too. And if this comment ruins your plans then please accept my apologies!

There is a couple of reasons. It would not fit across with other shed there, I'd like bikes as close to house and also closer for electric to be run to it. Also used to have problems with scroats climbing fence onto roofs but hasn't happened for few years but solves that issue. Will have 2 windows to let light in plus lights inside :-)

I love shed build threads, partly being nosey I suppose thats sounds like a nice size, the only thing I learnt from experience, was I should have built it to multiples of 4 etc, so it made it so much easier with sheet size, wood lengths, and lining it etc. I didn't have that luxury, as it had to fit a 'gap' looks the same for you too. Keep the pics coming, it'll soon be jammed full like mine.

When i had my dug up, albeit with a digger, i paid for a big skip and filled it with top soil. Just before the skip was collected a mate asked if he could have the top soil for his own garden. Of course i said. So he emptied the skip. Just wished he had mentioned this before I suffered the cost! I decided to empty a lot of the crap out of my loft into it instead, but only half filled it! Good planning hey!

why have you only half filled skip ? level load is to the top of the sides not the ends ..you will get all that soil in there..fill her up..save yourself another £200..

people often fit old boards and stuff on the ends and fill level to the top round here, might be different for you tho. Anyway, good work Mellow, this is keeping you fit I reckon

I spend about 10k per year on skips heres my tip-
Run a plate compacter over the skip you gets loads more in it and you get the pleasure watching the skip lorry doing wheelies and wondering how the fook they will get it out when they tip it.its not full till its spilling out.

Thought about insulation?

Post by greeny on May 9, 2016 22:40:45 GMT 1
Need to insulate them. They get condensation in them. Just my opinion Anyone else.. But great work, coming along nicely. E

Rigga...Yes I have...quite a lot. Not sure how or what yet lol. As it is essentially a shed it does have a slight gap between upvc roof and panels so shouldn't get too much condensation. But may change that later.
