After many years of thinking about it we finally got round to having the drive done. Looks like something on the western front at the moment! They rolled up today 8 o'clock sharp and started using one of those 2 stroke stone cutting things. Well this thing was revving up and down for 25 minutes non stop. I couldn't stand it anymore and had to say something. So I opened the window and shouted down; I said, excuse me, but you know that thing is a little bit lean at the bottom!

Its amazing how those little engines stand all the abuse they get , sure they are pulling 10,000 + rpm max out

Amazingly, the smaller Stihl engines run a bizarre big end bearing where the rollers are individual.... You slide the con-rod over to one side of the crank, load all the rollers in with a bit of grease, and then slide the con-rod carefully back over the lot....!! When the cases are back together, the rod can't move and the rollers all stay in place as if by magic.....
I thought I had a roller missing but the dealer said, No, they all have a bit of slop in them....
It rev's it's tits off permanently and is always sound...

...same as a Villiers bottom end with the loose big end rollers. This guy strips a Villiers bottom end in about 3 minutes. steven.
