this was in the stuff me and my mate bought it looks new to me is it 31k ? hasnt f2 got bigger ear bits either side of the big winding ? it was in a box with a flywheel over it and some rgv calipers mastercylinders and wasnt in a bag so its got a bit of muck in places it has a bag with it with the 3 bolts and washers that hold this in place on the engine ,not a scratch on those either flywheel deffo isnt new as it has a few dings on the inner edges like some one didnt have a flywheel puller and just a big prize bar

Might be F2 by the look of the plugs. Jess

+1 Jess.
Weren't all earlier ones to F2 etc covered in that sickly yellow stuff?
Definately not 31K.
Gary, how much are you after for it?

I'm wth kosaprasa on this. You say you just had it in a box of bits, so obviously have not tried it.
Maybe the fact it looks so good is the fact it was actially removed years ago as it didn't work.
Check the resistances, at the very least.
I'd love an F2 stator in that condition, but only if it works!

Its always a worry as Jon says, I have one in my spares just like this as it looks brand new (tho is probably a rewind, just feels rewound, no proof), its an 86-on version as well. Dead as a dodo when tested sadly. I got all excited when I found it (years back) thinking i finally had a good un, but the other spares i have all look horrible but work solidly.

Actually that doesn't look much like My '87 stator. That black(charred?)stuff on those few coils doesn't look so great.. in the photo at least.

That black(charred?)stuff on those few coils doesn't look so great looks new to me looks new to muttsnutts look as new to the lad that bought it and within spec in the manual when tested so 3 of us that have had it in our hands and looked closely at it have an opinion its new or nears as you can get new those that have seen pics seem to think its burnt out ,lol which would you trust ?
