Any welders out there got an opinion on if this broken fin is repairable and will it warp the barrels if it was welded/repaired ?

IMO if he Tigs it not too much heat should get in, a series of tacks probably then fill in the gaps
Particularly if he can hold the broken bit in situ and use it as the heat sink, all be it small
ie roll the bead from the broken bit onto the barrel

Hi I had an Rd400 barrel with a large piece of fin broken off. I dremmeled a matching piece of fin from an old knacked barrel ( I did't have the original part), and took it to my local engineers who welded it on perfectly. You would never know it had been repaired and the barrels had a vapour blasted finish too. So a good welder should be able to do it for you if you don't want to post it off. Dusty
