Anybody know if there are any differences between a 3540R and F2 frame, they look the same, but thought I'd ask/check............

Dave, there are a few. Some more major than others.
The important one is the headstock. The bearing cups are different sizes and Jap YPVS is not interchangeable with it. However more modern Yamaha also uses this size so fork changes are easier. My 4HW forks (baby 3XV) fit straight in.
There are also a few extra lugs for the faring, 4 in total but easily removed.
Otherwise they are identical.

Am i right in thinking that they have different headrace bearings, one being 55mm diameter and top one being 47mm?

Yes headstock uses tapers as standard so bigger
Uses standard rgv sizes so easy for a hybrid.
Biggest pain of the extra brackets is the 2 welded to the top frame rails. You can't make it a naked without cutting them off.
Also no lugs for frame infills at headstock
No top lug for N rad guard. Just the F ones

cheers guys, you live and learn that's for sure !
somebody was wanting the 350R frame and cases so they could make their F2 a matching numbers bike, so thought I'd make sure of my facts before saying it should all swap over, glad I checked now !

Just got a 350R frame plus a heap of parts for less than 100 quid in your language, could someone possibly explain in pictures please, not sure if I can rebuild it back to original as plastics are hard to come by down here
was thinking of doing a 350N with clip ons but don't know now, I didn't really want to butcher the frame at all
I guess I'll look in the rebuilds section to see if any have been done
Suggestions please?

Steve, I'm sure my R frame had the lugs for the infills as I remember chopping them off.
