Weve talked a bit about keys recently, but has anyone got a definitive on what keys were used on each bike when new, LC to ypvs models? pics would be best if you have them...

From LCBOTTs link, these are the same keys i always think of as LC too, I wish I could find some of these with decent tops: The plastic key in my pic below is the modern replacement, anyone know what the steel one was for, mid 70s models? its what i use on my LC as its still available.

Also there is this, from another thread where I asked this of Steve: My experience the 31k was all large tab with the white writing. 1ua models had the small tab key. All modern replacement stuff has the new shaped key Steve

Wouldn't Simon5 have a load of keys suitable? I was under the impression when you sent him your various locks etc, you only had the one 'matching' key returned, surely he must have 'thousands' of leftovers My YPVS 31K also has the early type key, as in the first pic, I also think this is the original key too (low owner bike)

Yes Simon does have keys
Problem was i wanted a pair
My N had the original match g cap and seat lock (ignition had been changed) and the original keys were the large tab
Also the 4k mile absolutely original lc2 I restored also had the large tab key. It was an 84 so unless the 83 had the older key I don't know
