How many of you guys use fuel filters, I don't use em on my 4LO, it has a German model tank on it and is as mint as a mint thing inside, my Hybrid tank aint so nice inside, its solid but aint as clean as id like, im no a fan of sealing kits, (don't ask lol) Anyways do you guys use em and any reasons not too, ive just bought two of em small square types , then a mate says that one starved his cylinder of fuel once causing a nip up, so now im in two minds, THOUGHTS??

Problem is a lot of them are not ethanol resistant and they dissolve
Also if you have that much crud they can block
Ideally you need to fill the tank with acid and leave for days to dissolve the rust then always add a bit of 2 stroke to the tank to keep it at bay.
If it holes it then it would have happened soon. I'd rather it leaked when trying to clean than burst in an accident.

Esso is the only super unleaded without ethanol. I also thought bp ultimate had no ethanol, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Esso stated in writing that their Super had no ethanol. Not sure any others have or will be so certain.
Many of the reports on the net are quite out of date...

What about the alloy bodied fuel filters with the brass gauze? Wouldn't imagine there'd be much problem with that type?

easy way to clean the tank, use the electrolysis method for cleaning out the rust, all u need is a battery charger + some baking soda, works a treat,do a web search

I had a fuel filter fail on me and it caused a nip up on one cylinder. Currently running one bike with filters as the tank has been repainted about 300 km ago and the other one without. I'd rather clean my carbs than hone my cylinders.
