Just got this today, had a quick blast on it and it was a right hoot to ride, handles like a dream as well Not sure it will be with me long as while its great to ride, it plays havoc with back, but I'll do a few more rides on it and see how I get on as its loads of fun and proper quick on the twisties ! .......

Nice bike Dave - always liked the look of these, but I'm the same as you - back would give me jip if I spent any time on that unfortunately Still, nice to say you had one for a while. Enjoy Dusty

Very nice Dave. Parallel twin motor like the Yamaha or V twin? no idea Gary, think it was based on the RGV250 motor originally if memory serves me right, so that would make it a parallel twin, its 60 bloody horse power and at 8k you know its 60 bloody horse power, weighs bugger all and goes like hot snot - ace fun to ride in the twisties mind Shaun/Dusty, your not wrong, I did about 10 miles on it and when I got off I knew I'd been on it, my old back since the injury just isn't up to it - shame as I do like it, I am dropping down to 4 bikes, so I've still got a good few to sell, just need to decide which ones, at the moment I've got the following to thin out 1. 350LC - that will be staying 2. RD400F - my fully restored one that I only finished earlier this year 3. RD250/400 - 250F frame, 400E engine, project with loads of trick bits 4. YPVS track bike - probably selling 5. 3XV track bike - probably keeping 6. Turbo bike - that will be staying, hoping to finish that soon ! 7. Aprilia RS250 above 8. RD250LC - provisionally sold

Nice bike, swap you my Katana for it, bit more in keeping as an old man's ride. Bin the RD500 oil pump and go premix or buy a new old stock one, not worth the risk on the 500. I picked a NOS one for £80 + shipping. Heard of plenty of them blocking over the years.

i had a rgv vj22 ( about 10 years ago , owned it for 2.5 years ) , found it too difficult to ride fast on the road OR track , too much effort to keep it 'on the boil' . makes about the same power if memory serves me right as my 350 power valve , those 100 more ponies makes life a lot more easier ! ! ! very nice bike btw

Very nice mate, those 250 strokers really do handle. Went out on mine at the weekend and always puts a huge smile on my face. Enjoy it.

Defo a v twin out of the RGV Aprilia did some work on the heads and the crank I believe
Really good chassis handles much better than an RGV
Wish I could afford one they go for big money down here particularly the one with the lions head paintwork
