I would say that's an old pic judging by the Phil Read replica helmet and Bay City Rollers scarf! Doesn't look like that 'stunt' was going to end well!

Great pic when you think about the cameras that were around then. My pics were always blurred. Yes he's definitely lost it. Would like to see the following pic. A good start for a project though!

If that's RVS 495W I now know why it disappeared off the DVLC radar in 84!

Love that picture, it's what the LC was all about at that time...
Anyone remember Biaggi's wheelie at Brno 98, his skill saved it so just maybe... But I doubt it

I feel for this guy. I've been there, done that and got the scars to prove it. Gave up trying to 'perfect' the art of wheelying after that. My mates took me to hospital and previous experience kicked in when I said I'd fallen out of a pick-up truck. You don't get a lot of sympathy for bike accidents and I'm sure they brush harder when taking the gravel rash out, just to teach you a lesson!

So he says wio... I doubt it, right leg off the peg, not much chance when vertical until the engine cuts out.

...looking at that pic, I would deffo say he "flipped" it, but it says he dabbed the back brake and got it down. Obviously before the days of fleeces, as he has got on a nice wooly jumper that his mum knitted him !.....and wrangler jeans. Found the blog here, Cool pics, thanks for posting. steven. tards.org.uk/index.php?topic=768.0

No way could he bring that down safely his foots way off the rest and his arse is not even on the seat . He would not be able to raise his leg to dab the brake in that position me thinks

i too have been in that position and beyond back in the 70`s on a h1e 500. i was showing off and flipped it with my brother on the back. landed on my backside taking lots of skin off and watching my bike destroy itself as it hit the kerb and tumbled down the road. funnily enough i was dressed nearly the same as the guy in the pic, except i had a much better scarf. That's fantastic! I wish I still had some old pictures. I remember I think a Dutch geezer called Arnie doing the same thing on a Z1300 but he was in control, I remember he also jumped off the back at 100 mph and slid along behind on clogs!! Aaaahhiw good were the 80's!!!!
