Hello gang.
Went out for a ride earlier today and as I gave the bike a good run, 4th - 5th - 6th gear up to 9000 rpm it started spraying water thru the fairing on my face!
Slowed down and stopped the water level on the expansion tank was full. Got it back home without any problem (runs great) but slowly this time..
I guess head gasket gone.. Right??

Got the gasket from you mate. Pattern but I think good quality. I did not fit any instant gasket which I regret now!! Also did not sand the head flat as most do, as I was too optimistic.
Anyway ordered a new gen yam now so I think I will get this sorted.
Has anyone used copper spray instead of instant gasket?

Could just be overfilled? I would recheck the level first before assuming its the head gasket. Also make sure the rubber seal on the rad cap is clean and in good condition.

Overfilled??? Drained the coolant but did not check... Done 250 klm up to now but coolant level never moved..
It blew water out only when I really pushed it. Then run fine but the level in the expansion tank remained full. I'm ready to pull the head out now and you gave me second thoughts...
Also as I did the rebuild, when I filled her up it took exactly what Haynes book said..

I think the way to go would be wellseal on the new gasket. Torque the head to the barrels before doing the barrel to crankcase bolts up.
