looks like ive got a slight oil leak from gear shaft is this a easy fix and does the engine have to come out to do.its a ypvs engine in lc frame thanks

No, pull the seal out with a pick and press in the new one.
Unless... Gearshaft has a wear groove on it or if the bush behind the seal is worn out.
Gearshaft means that you have to pull the r/h case. Bush means that you have to live with the leak until the time comes to split the engine.

Not tried it but technically the bush should be removable with an internal bearing puller.
Also it has been said that the gear shaft passes through a chamber that the bush cannot get out of so theoretically you could drive another bush in and it would just sit in the cavity or if you made a driving tool it would just sit on the shaft. Would be a fix till a strip was on the cards.
