Hi Guyz I have a std 500 in here for a set of pipes. Im just finishing it off and it looks odd from the rear. I measured the wheel for centre and its spot in, checked the swingarm and thats fine so decided to take a few measurements from the wheel rim. Wheel is straight by the way, I measured the footrest hangers from the rear rim to the very outside tip and the rear of the footrests and the right hand one is 20mm further out than the left one. Is this correct or is something bent on this bike? TIA Kenny

Thanks Mark but can you please measure the centres of the endcan outlets from the rear tyre too and see if they are the same both sides or offset.

As far as I'm aware all is central and symmetrical, aftermarket pipes dont fit too well, and need tweeking on the middle bracket. This is probably not a lot of help if you need mm accuracy.

Had a measure up. From wheel rim to rear footrest guard is 135mm on l/h and 148 on r/h. From inside edge of can to edge of tyre it's near enough 85mm on both sides.

Kenny, there is a slight difference on how the pipes run, exactly why I have never quiet worked out, I have one stripped down in the workshop if you want other measurements, exhausts etc are still on it at the moment, so will be easy for me to measure for you - no body work to get around, or take some photo's if need be

Hi Dave Can you possibly do the same measurements on that one and take a few pics of how they differ in the fitting please?
