Hi all. Probably open a can of worms.. Ive bought an LC that is currently set to run pre mix. Pump has been removed as has for some mad reason the oil tank and pipework. Ive got the bits now to sort pump, drives and oil tank. Do i change back to the auto lube obviously after a dabble of arrows fingers. Or do i run as it is?? What ratio should pre mix be on? Thanks Ian

Hi mate 30:1 for the premix. Only the pump will oil the motor correctly. Premix is a compromise, but we all know this by now.

Just to add a view from a pre-mix fan... I chose pre-mix because at least it's fail-safe - as long as you remember to add the oil to fuel in the first place of course! I've had a bike seize on me many years ago, due to an air lock in the supply line. The reason the tank and lines have been removed is probably the same reason as I did it...it provides ease of access and generally tidies things up beneath the seat. Each to their own I guess

I also a pre-mix fan,I also seized a bike many years ago due to snapped cable to pump. I also prefer the clean uncluttered look when cables, hoses, tank removed.

I remember the old 2 stroke pump at the garage from my year on a Fizzy DX in 1979 A gallon and a shot of 20-1, good old days, I used to buy Belray in a bottle when I was flush as Del Boy would say

Yes, those were the days. The old duffer at our local shell garage used to spray 2t oil all over the place, he was especially adept at covering your school uniform with it. Don't think the fizz ever got it's correct ratio, as a good deal of it ended up on your clothes...so he used to give you an extra shot. Yep them were the days, sat in a class room piss wet through with rain and 2t oil all day............were they feck!!!
Best bet IMO, pump to arrow, and add a little oil to the tank on each fill up, to stop tank rusting.
