Hello chaps, I need a set of forks for my 4LO. It was fitted with power valve forks with the reduced diameter where the head lamp brackets fit. These got damaged in an accident last year. If you look at the picture below you will see a silver fork leg (type Y0996-0 3 MK1) and a black fork leg (type Y06-R SA-1). Can i strip out the black forks and rebuild them in the silver castings?

Sacrilege!
Those black forks are ypvs f1/n1 and quite rare. Was looking for a good pair but gave up and bought new stanchions.
On a serious note yes I think they fit as some people with lc2 ypvs have fitted f2 bottoms ( same bottom, different top ) to fit better calipers.
Problem is that I think both the f/n 1/2 stanchions are longer than the lc2 forks as they go through the yoke into the clip ons

Thanks Steve, i don't need to strip them now. I was searching through my junk for a half shaft this morning and found a pair which are the same spec. I do have another question the n1 forks are much stiffer to push in. They all have air valves but i have never done anything with them on my bike. Do you know how much pressure they should be charged at? If weight of the rider is important i am erm just over 16 stone

From memory it is only 6 psi or something like that. Back in the day mine did not leak but would only hold pressure for a few days so I put 5 X 2p pieces on top of the springs to shim them up a bit.
