Same as you back in the day. Time goes by too fast. i still drink with the same mates I did 30 years ago, we still take the p155 relentlessly. I cant take it in that I'm 50 in April. At work me and my mate/brother in law were always the youngest in the gang. Now we are the oldest. The youngsters call us "dick eds" cos we are always taking the p155 out of them. Which is by me. Still riding strokers, which no one gets apart from our generation. So growing old ungracefully.

Racing around like a hooligan was great in the times when not many people could afford a car let alone 2/3/4 so roads around here were practically empty , licence plates meant nothing because coppers couldn't catch you , no speed cameras, no speed guns , drinking and smoking and fatty foods were good for you , pulling wheelies and burn outs outside pubs people would clap and cheer. How times have changed

Two or three pints before jumping on my gt 250 then heading out to a young farmers barn dance where another 3 or 4 pints would be sunk !! Then the unlucky ones who didn't manage to pull a bird would ride to an all night service stn 40 mile away for some grub ( we would try & eat what we could before we got to the till ) Bloody crazy but great fun back in the day ?

Was off work with another broken arm after falling off while full of pernod blackcurrant and lemonade. When you thew up it came out looking exactly the same as when you drank it. ??.

I was 18, riding an X7 and I didn't get my car licence till later in the year. Worked in a Solicitor's but was waiting for a job interview with the Fire Brigade. Drank cider back then, and a big group of us used to ride out to the Cider House in Winkfield to sample their brews, aptly named "Depth Charge" and "Hand Grenade" !! Happy days Dusty

30 yr ago had my rd80mx for the road. Also had a kx420 for off road. Coppers in their 2.8i capri's used to chase us on the fields. They never stood a chance of catching us. Think they used to like getting the arse end of the cars out thinking they were the Sweeney. Eventually got caught on the kx when it ran out of fuel and I tried to run still pushing it.

I was 23, had a GSX1100EN which was an absolute bag-o-shite, remember trying to catch a lad on a 350LC and was being pitched from side to side due to a tank slapper. Used to see the lad with the LC quite often and I'm sure he would have a massive grin on his face when he clocked me. The suzuki went and I got £50 more than I paid for it!!! Hope the poor bugger who bought it is still with us? Desperate to by my own place I saved the money and used it as a deposit for my first house, bought my Third RD400 a couple of years later, it was a 1979 E model. Happy days

I was 18, riding a Z400J , great for reliability and carrying a bird on the back but had to keep it at 9-10000 rpm to try keeping up with LCs. Living in denial and wanting a BIG ZED. Soon got a Z1000J which I still have but also bought an '86 f2 YPVS which of course was more fun than the ZED 1000.Both the zed and the F2 was bought from insurance money having writing off a Z750 into a mini driven by an incompetent woman.(luckily there were witnesses.) Starting to waffle now, beer, long hair, heavy metal etc. Nothing much has changed just not much hair now apart from nostrils, ears and back.
