It's a new tax on selling vehicles, every time some one sells and buys a vehicle they get an extra months tax.

I added the tzr250 to my lc insurance last month. £22.68. With new tax rules the government gets 2 months road tax from the sale of every vehicle. One from the buyer and one from the seller Not a bad money making scheme

Surely if it has a tax disc on it then its still valid as the last owner should have sent the tax disc away in order to reclaim what was left, bought myself a Fazer 1000 last weekend which is taxed till next March and was advertised with T&T. (lc resto temporarily on hold till more funds appear)

The thing that really annoys me is that the Tax on a bike is more than the the wife's Nissan!

If your bike is taxed and you sell it on the 2nd day of the month then you lose out on the refund for that month - refunds are only for each full month remaining. You could get round it by putting the bike on SORN before selling, or agreeing with the buyer that change of ownership is at the end of the month and not part-way through it. UKIP need to jump in and say they will scrap the new system if elected

Yet another shit idea to make money by the powers that be , had to tax a vehicle in the last month that discs were required , got a photo copy back with instructions to cut it out of the page and pop it in the window, UKIP vote winner in my opinion
