Having finished my YPVS Hybrid I'm looking for suitable insurance as it's still insured as an FZR400. Does anyone know of any insurance brokers I could contact and whether the bike will have to be assessed, rough costs etc. I'd be grateful for any information. Many thanks.

I was recommended Peter James on here for my hybrid. They seemed polite, unfazed by modifications, and reasonable price wise.
I had been with Carole Nash for twenty years, and they have slowly got worse. When they first started you got the impression it was a small team who knew about bikes. Now I suspect it has been farmed out to the cheapest UK call centre with a team of people who know nothing about bikes.

Another vote for Peter James Insurance , I've got several bike Insured with them , of which 3 are non-standard . If you tell them all the mods on the bike , i've never had any problems with them. having said that i've never had to make a claim.
Mike .

Not tried Peter James, the only one I could find to insure my blue hybrid because it was so extreme was Ebike & that was £160.00 fully comp with break down, leathers/helmet etc. One good thing was they didn't bump up the price when it came to renew the policy plus when I sold the blue hybrid they allowed me to swop it to the KH hybrid at NO extra cost

Also good that you can have up to 3 bikes on one policy. 31k hybrid, modded fazer 1000 and ts250x. All for around the 150 mark. Thought the strangest thing was when I took it out on the hybrid then after 6 months I added a fire blade which was free. They also used to do a buy one policy and get a classic policy free Steve

When I mentioned the word "Hybrid" to Footman James ,they though it was an electric/petrol type motor FFS LOL yes im with Footman James seems like getting Hybrid insurance with them would be a difficult process

It simply asks you for a value for each bike. Not sure how it would go on a claim. Steve

Agreed value is very important to get With Footman until I returned a form with details of the mods and several pics of the bike I was only insured for market value whatever that was Thanks for info ,as im with Footman James with a multi bike policy i best give them a try before Ebike
