Been busy over last few w/ends to get much bike time in , but have a few days off work this week , so hope to take it out for a spin Tuesday after I 've been dentist . Anyway last few times I have been out on bike noticed a little spot of oil dripped on floor from bottom left hand tube of swingarm ( bike always sits on sidestand). At first thought is was from my over oiling of chain , then maybe a leak in l/h cover running down chain maybe?? Last time I also seen a few spots on the inside of the lower rear mudgard plastic? Chain flicked it up?
Anyway in garage today looked at rear of bike more spots of oil ? got some on my finger, looked a green colour , did the old taste test . wasn't engine oil or gearbox oil. Looked with torch and could see oil on the shaped part of the lower rear mudgaurd part that goes around the rear shock. I also removed the 2T tank just to make sure that had not got a hole in .
Looks to be leaking from the rear shock, and running down the plastics onto the swing arm . Anyone stripped an original shock down and does it have a green oil in?
Looks like I 'll be in the market for a new Hagon or go for the other style Norbo sells? Maybe I can see if there is a good offer on new shocks at the Stafford show .
